Jennifer Aniston has joined in on the flood of social media posts with montages that capture a look back at 2021. The former Friends star put hers to the classic R.E.M. song, “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)”. She included close-ups of a hand sanitizer dispenser, shots from the set of her Apple+ series The Morning Show with her co-star Reese Witherspoon, photos from the Friends reunion she did this year for HBO Max, and a bathroom selfie where she’s doing a high kick in a black leotard and heels. Context for any of the moments in the montage weren’t explained, but many interpreted this moment as Jennifer Aniston kicking her way into 2022.
You can see Jennifer Aniston’s 2021 montage in the video below:
While some felt that the high kick was symbolic, it may also have been seeing the star show off her yoga moves. Jennifer Aniston sometimes updates her social media with short clips from her yoga practice. As for the heels? Style and a fun challenge seem like safe assumptions. The high kick happens briefly toward the end of the montage.
When Jennifer Aniston did an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, she shared that she felt her life has become very different over the past two years during the pandemic. While she did go back to work on The Morning Show, she wasn’t traveling as much as she used to and was only going to about five houses during that time. Though her 2021 montage looks fun, she made it sound like she was looking for changes in 2022. She shared that her work schedule is already fairly full for the coming two years. Breaks have been scheduled to provide time with family and friends and avoid burnout, but the actress is looking forward to revving up her career.
Not a lot is known about what projects Jennifer Aniston has scheduled for the next two years. She’s currently attached to a Facts of Life reenactment with Kathryn Hahn and Gabrielle Union. The reenactment is part of Jimmy Kimmel’s Live In Front of A Studio Audience project where they reenact single episodes of classic sitcoms. The project sounds fun, but not like something that will take up a lot of her time.
In September of 2021, Netflix announced that Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler will be returning for Murder Mystery 2. The original was the most popular movie on the streaming service in 2019, so a sequel wasn’t a huge surprise. Filming on the Happy Madison Production will likely begin in 2022.
Jennifer Aniston is also attached to a project called Hail Mary which sounds promising. The story sees a Miss USA contestant switch up her ambitions and become a sports manager. The title is listed as a comedy and only has Jennifer Aniston attached to star. However, with so little known, it’s unclear when or if that project is still happening. It isn’t something she’s talked a lot about yet herself.
With a busy schedule ahead of her, and so few projects announced, it sounds like Jennifer Aniston may have more announcements to make over the course of 2022 and 2023 as fans wait to see what else she’s up to.
