If you loved Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer's reunion in their Uber Eats Super Bowl commercial, you're going to enjoy the actress' latest spot for the company!
To this day, even with her long career in Hollywood, Aniston is best known for her role as Rachel Green in Friends. Her work on the hit series cemented her place in TV history and also birthed what's become an iconic hairstyle dubbed the 'Rachel' in honor of her character. Aniston popularized the hairdo which she refers to as "a little shag" in the ad but the joke is she doesn't remember it.
As Aniston notes in the commercial, "In order to remember something, you have to forget something else," her something is the 'Rachel.' The woman, whose hair was styled by Aniston's longtime stylist Chris McMillan, tries to explain her haircut is meant to emulate the actress' famous 'do but humorously ends up getting nowhere with Aniston.
The Uber Eats commercial is a solid promotional vehicle not only for the company but also the icon's haircare brand, LolaVie. Launched in 2021, the brand combines "the best of science and nature," according to the line's site. LolaVie aims for sustainability through recyclable packaging where possible and the use of bamboo essence in the brand's products instead of de-ionized water.
Aniston's hair has been a topic of discussion her whole career and her interest in haircare has furthered that conversation. But even a hair icon has day-to-day struggles with maintenance sufficient care which the star spoke to in a 2023 interview with Forbes celebrating the 2nd anniversary of her company with Joel Rankin and Amy Sachs.
"I’ve always had a lot of hair and it’s always been a challenge for me because of my wonderful Greek heritage. My mom had curly hair, so it’s never been an easy job to blow dry my hair or brush my hair. It’s kind of ironic at the same time that it’s iconic because it was sort of that, ‘Ugh, do I have a good hair day? Am I going to have a bad hair day?’ And like every women, we still do – and as you get older, your hair is also changing. Yes, I have embraced it, by the way, but there’s challenges for everybody and I’m included in all of that everyday."
Jennifer Aniston's nod to the 'Rachel,' a look from her past, while promoting her current focus on providing quality hair products for upkeep, style, and health is a wonderful celebration of how far she's come in the near 30 years since Friends premiered.
