David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston have a surprise reunion in the latest Super Bowl commercial for Uber Eats.
In the ad, which intends to showcase that people have to forget something else to remember that Uber Eats delivers almost anything, the actress gets an online delivery while working on set. “I didn’t know you could get all this stuff on Uber Eats,” a crew member says, before Aniston, 54, adds, “Yeah, well you know what they say, ‘In order to remember something, you’ve got to forget something else.’ Make a little room.” Schwimmer, 57, then bumps into Aniston and is excited to see his former Friends co-star, but she seems surprisingly distant, asking “Have we met?”
After asking for a hint, Schwimmer says, “Worked together for 10 years.” Aniston seems dumbfounded, repeating “10 years!”
The Morning Show star then tries to play it off, but the actor sees right through it. “You still don’t know, do ya?” Schwimmer asks, while Aniston admits, “I don’t.”
As she walks away, she quips, “Like I’d forget 10 years of my life.” Schwimmer adds, “I hate this town.”
Schwimmer and Aniston starred in the hit US sitcom for a whole decade as Ross Gellar and Rachel Green, who enjoyed a tumultuous on-off relationship for much of the show.
Their appearing in the ad marks the first time that they have reunited on screen since the 2021 Friends reunion.
It also comes three months after the death of co-star Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing.
Following his death, Aniston and Schwimmer released a joint statement with the rest of the core cast, including Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc, saying they were “utterly devastated”.
Elsewhere in the ad, David and Victoria Beckham can be seen struggling to remember the name of the famous girl group she was a member of before becoming a fashion designer.
