Following the critical reception and disappointing performance of 'Wonder Woman 1984' at the global box office, many did not expect Gal Gadot to return to the DC universe, especially with the restructuring under the guidance of James Gunn and Peter Safran.
However, the Israeli actress has confirmed that 'Wonder Woman 3' is in the works and will indeed be part of this "new" DC.
As of now, the release date and plot details for the third installment are unknown. What is certain is that it will be the first movie in the series to be developed under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Speculation from some specialized media suggests that one of them might also take on the role of director for the film starring Gal Gadot.
"I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together," said Gadot.
As fans eagerly await more information about the upcoming movie, the duo faces the challenging task of reviving the DC universe.
The first test will be 'Superman Legacy,' featuring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as the lead pair, taking over from Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. The film also boasts new additions like Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and Edi.
"I saw that they were testing, doing different screen tests, but I don't know who got it, but it seemed like everyone was super legit and talented and, like, great," Gadot noted.
"So I'm happy for them. It's such a huge take-on and it's such an exciting beginning to any actor, and I wish whoever it's going to be the best of luck and enjoy the ride."
