Gal was clearly having a great time as she relaxed in her chair, getting all dolled up by a team of professionals sporting face shields to stay safe during the pandemic. To ensure an extra level of protection, her dressing room was set up outside in the open air, rather than in a cramped trailer. As Gadot pretended to sing along, her glam squad went to work. When combined with its international earnings, the superhero flick has amassed a global total of $85 million as of Sunday. Back in 2017, the original Wonder Woman film made history with the biggest opening for a female director and went on to generate $822 million worldwide. The highly anticipated sequel, which had a production budget of around $200 million, was initially projected to reach close to $1 billion at the box office prior to the pandemic. However, current estimates suggest it will likely achieve around $180 million, as per reports from Variety.
The figures may not be as impressive as the record-breaking $100 million that the first Wonder Woman movie made during its opening in 2017, but it’s still considered a win. Warner Bros. revealed on Sunday that they are expediting the production of a third Wonder Woman installment, confirming that Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins will be returning for the project.
