The latest Wonder Woman movie, Wonder Woman 1984, took the number one spot at the box office this week. Gal Gadot, the star of the film, recently shared a TikTok video reminiscing about her time on set. In the video, she shows off her dancing skills for the first time on the popular app. The 35-year-old Israeli actress looked stylishly retro in an 80s-inspired outfit, wearing a pink sweater dress and neon accessories. She grooved along to the music of Cyndi Lauper’s hit song, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” with her hair and makeup team.
Gal was clearly having a great time as she relaxed in her chair, getting all dolled up by a team of professionals sporting face shields to stay safe during the pandemic. To ensure an extra level of protection, her dressing room was set up outside in the open air, rather than in a cramped trailer. As Gadot pretended to sing along, her glam squad went to work. However, they couldn’t resist busting a move when the catchy chorus kicked in. Even while seated, the actress threw her hands up and joined in on the impromptu dance party.

Gal playfully shared a lighthearted moment on her Instagram, sharing some candid shots of her unique outfit from behind the scenes. In her caption, she joked about her dancing skills on Tiktok, exclaiming, ‘Who would’ve thought I’d be dancing on Tiktok! But here I am, giving it a go. Check it out!’ The success of the Patty Jenkins-directed film likely added to her excitement, as it smashed pandemic box office records by earning $16.7 million in North America.

Blockbuster hit Wonder Woman 1984 has stolen the spotlight as the top-grossing film during the pandemic era. The movie made its debut in theaters on Christmas Day and raked in an impressive $16.7 million at the North American box office this past weekend. When combined with its international earnings, the superhero flick has amassed a global total of $85 million as of Sunday. Back in 2017, the original Wonder Woman film made history with the biggest opening for a female director and went on to generate $822 million worldwide. The highly anticipated sequel, which had a production budget of around $200 million, was initially projected to reach close to $1 billion at the box office prior to the pandemic. However, current estimates suggest it will likely achieve around $180 million, as per reports from Variety.
The figures may not be as impressive as the record-breaking $100 million that the first Wonder Woman movie made during its opening in 2017, but it’s still considered a win. Warner Bros. revealed on Sunday that they are expediting the production of a third Wonder Woman installment, confirming that Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins will be returning for the project.
