Some Hollywood stars have notoriously awful relationships with their co-stars, but that is certainly not the case with longtime friends and Murder Mystery 2 co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. According to an article from Hollywood Reporter, the two actors are eager to travel and work together more after Murder Mystery 2‘s premiere on March 31st.
During the interview, Jennifer Aniston noted that she would “love to be able to” film again with Sandler and that they’d both be specifically interested in something “more in the dramatic side.” She called Sandler “exquisite” both as a comedic and dramatic actor. Sandler in response said “that would be great,” calling Aniston “amazing” and that he would “love to do something different with her.”
The actors talked about how they met over thirty years ago in 1990 at Jerry’s Deli in Los Angeles before Jennifer Aniston’s role on Friends and at the beginning of Adam Sandler’s tenure on Saturday Night Live. Of their meeting, Aniston recalled that Sandler “ate a lot of pancakes and chocolate milk,” and Sandler remembers that she was “sweet as hell,” and could match any joke with “something funnier.”
The two actors recently collaborated on Murder Mystery 2, a sequel to 2019’s Murder Mystery. The original saw Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler take on the roles of Audrey and Nick Spitz, a NYC cop and his wife in a struggling marriage who decide to rekindle their flame by going on a European vacation. When the two get framed for a murder, they have to use their sleuthing skills to unveil the real murderer.
Murder Mystery 2 follows up the previous film, with the Spitz’s now running their own private investigation firm. When their friend is abducted, they must once again embark on an investigation of international proportions.
Murder Mystery 2 was filmed in O’ahu, Hawaii, and in Paris, France, two illustrious locations. The previous film had been filmed in various parts of Italy and Monaco, meaning the two have certainly been racking up frequent flyer miles to some beautiful locales.
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are two of the most endearing celebrities to come out of the 90s and have established themselves as powerhouses with staying power in Hollywood. Sandler and Aniston first worked together on the 2011 film Just Go With It, but the two both have had illustrious careers in Hollywood.
Adam Sandler came to prominence as a writer on Saturday Night Live before landing leading roles in films throughout the 90s and 2000s such as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, 50 First Dates, and many more, most recently in 2019’s Uncut Gems and 2022’s Hustle. Jennifer Aniston came to prominence in her iconic role as Rachel Green in the television sitcom Friends but also starred in films such as Office Space, Bruce Almighty, The Break-Up, Marley & Me, Just Go with It, and Horrible Bosses, among others.
With the two in Hollywood for over thirty years, Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler garnered a level of experience and acclaim that allows them to be selective with the work that they take on. Many fans agree, if they could get paid to go travel the world with a long-time friend, they too would jump on it in a second.
